Created in 1987, the GIT is a professional association of Occupational Health Nurses in France.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- To promote the role and missions of the profession.
- To develop reflection and research in the fields of competence of the OHN.
- To encourage continuing education in the speciality.
- To value the expertise of the OHN.
- To participate in the ongoing debate and evolution of public and occupational health.
OUR SERVICES
Publication and distribution of a review and information letters.
- Publication of work and projects carried out by OHNs.
- Organisation of study days.
- Answers to members professional and legal questions.
- Regular regional meetings in order to exchange ideas and information.
- Participation in symposiums of different specialities related to occupational health care.
The GIT participated in the creation of the French University Diploma in Occupational Health (Diplôme Inter Universitaire de Santé au Travail).
OUR MEMBERS
The association is open to state registered nurses working in the following fields;
- Private works medical services covering one or a group of companies.
- Preventative medical services within the public health system, hospitals and nationalised industries.
- Occupational Health Nurses who are looking for work, retired or in temporary work.
A national association, the GIT is organised into regional delegations.
Members elect an administrative council made up of regional delegates and a college of active members designated on the general assembly.

The GIT is a member of the Nursing Commission in the Higher Council of Paramedical Professions (Commission Infirmière au sein du Conseil Supérieur des Professions Paramedicales).
